Keasha & Chris Draft Wedding

We recently had the opportunity to film a wedding like no other. I'd heard of Chris Draft and the Draft Foundation, but had never met him. It wasn't until Friday, November, 25th that we actually met. I found out we are both from Southern California, but more importantly, I found out that this was going to be a non-traditional wedding. A sit down-style wedding, due to the fact that his bride to be (Keasha Rutledge) was ill. We decided to use a two camera setup for the ceremony to make sure we got the shots that Chris desired.

Upon arriving to the church on November 27th, 2011, you could feel in the air that something special was about to happen. The groom was ready, making sure everything was set for this special occasion, even setting up a skype session for his grandfather to witness the nuptials from a distance. Groomsmen were all smiles as they were getting ready. Bridesmaids complete with their custom Team Draft tanks, and ready to assist the Bride to Be with getting ready to walk down the aisle.

Once Keasha arrived, she exited the limo and threw up the peace sign to our camera and we knew from that very moment that we were in for the time of our lives. The ceremony was beautiful and Keasha walked back down the aisle with her new husband with the brightest smile you can ever capture.

We arrived at the reception in enough time to shoot the beautiful decor, and to get the bride and groom as they entered the reception space. The first dance was magical, with Keasha placing her index finger to Chris' cheek to let him know that he was the one she would spend the rest of her life with. The cutting of the cake, toasts, father/daughter dance followed and the bouquet toss was complete with Keasha faking a toss to the waiting single ladies. She cracked a HUGE grin and kept it moving. Quinn and Jukebox kept the party going, performing your favorite jams, while Keasha kept an ear to ear grin, enjoying every moment of the party time.

I was very saddened to find out that on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 Keasha was called home. She fought as long as she could, and decided it was her time to go. Her spirit and memory lives on through this video:

Please lift their family in prayer through this difficult time...
